GERBRAS Sustainability Talks

GERBRAS Sustainability Talks (Online Event)

We are pleased to invite you to the first event in the GERBRAS Sustainability Talks series—a series of free online events focused on sustainability and collaborations between Brazil and Germany.
The first edition will address Sustainability in the Amazon and will take place on 11 June 2025, from 09:00 to 11:00 (Brazil time).

This session is organised by the German-Brazilian Science and Technology Network (GERBRAS-SCIENCENET) and the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg), in partnership with the Inter-University Sustainable Development Research Programme (IUSDRP).

This first edition will focus on the challenges and opportunities for sustainability in the Amazon, highlighting the urgency of discussing not only the causes but also the possible solutions to the issues the region currently faces. The event offers a unique platform for national and international collaboration and knowledge exchange, bringing together leading experts in the field.

In this context, we invite you to take part in this opportunity to explore topics related to the Amazon, as an introduction to the event https://www.haw-hamburg.de/detail/news/news/show/2nd-symposium-amazon-2030-sustainability-issues-in-the-worlds-largest-rainforest-region/ and a continuation of the discussions initiated in the Science editorial https://www.haw-hamburg.de/fileadmin/LS/FTZ-NK/PDF/Publications/Science.pdf.
